Each year Burbage 

• presents around six full-length theatrical productions per year, comparable in quality to theatres with four times the funding

• each production features and enables numerous artists in the Rhode Island and Boston Theatre Communities 

• contributes to the greater artistic community in Providence, through our home at Aurora and their mission "to be a place for music, art, film and dialogue that enhances the intellectual and artistic discourse of our unique city."

Providence has a thriving and inventive comunity of artists. Never stopping. Always working. Always creating. And we want to contribute.

Burbage has served as an actor's lab and launch pad for new talent for five years, creating work and cultivating one of the strongest ensembles of actors in the state, with productions that you just won't experience anywhere else.

BUT there is so much more to do, and we need your help to do it.

We're planning:

• to expand our acting ensemble and pay our actors

• to invest in production equipment (lights, dimmers, etc) in order to support our ensemble with higher production values

• to offer free admission to high school students, and affordable rates for college students and classes

• to cultivate talent in youth by providing affordable education and internship opportunites

• to bring Shakespeare into high schools in Rhode Island
